We here at ukhh.com are only trying to provide a simple place for people to exchange opinions – we are not a large organisation trying to politicise music or enforce negative opinions of people. We want this website to be an interactive experience and encourage public contribution. This website is an unpaid part-time venture – as such we don’t have large resources and therefore hoped this forum would allow people to share information, news, and views on music related subjects.

However, there is no point maintaining and paying for this forum if it doesn’t serve this original purpose. With that in mind we have a few general comments regarding posting on the forum. We will try to moderate the boards but we don’t want to legislate for everything - it comes down to you people understanding the balance we are trying to achieve:

Racism will not be tolerated.

Stay on topic. Please keep your posts within the correct board – we have tried to create a wide range of areas but if you think something is not being catered for then please leave us reactions via info@ukhh.com.

Generate discussion. We don’t want a board completely filled with dead single post threads. Nobody wants to scroll through these posts looking for meaningful discussion.

Read things carefully. Make sure you understand messages before you reply to them. Similarly, re-read what you type before you post so you won't be misunderstood. A lot of the crap bickering could be finished with a bit of mutual understanding – this is ONLY an internet messageboard.

Do not feed the troll. If somebody in the forums is deliberately trying to wind people up, or "trolling", ignore them. There are far too many people on here using alias’s - its embarrassing. These forums aren’t here for people to create weak internet personalities – stop fronting or we’ll get rid of your lame bullshit. If you have a persistent problem with another poster then inform a moderator or info@ukhh.com.

Go easy on newbies. You were once a newcomer to hiphop and this forum. Not all people are going to know as much about this shit as you – the forums are here to share general information so what’s the point in being an elitist prick? We want to encourage new users and a better atmosphere will allow more information to be shared – that’s the purpose of these boards.

No spamming. Nobody wants to read the same message again and again and again and again and.… also, if you can make your point without waffling, you'll save everybody a lot of time. If your thread is sinking to the bottom of the forum – that’s because people had a chance to comment but didnt – please don’t repeatedly bump dead threads. If you have a live jam we’d appreciate it that you also place your details here (http://www.ukhh.com/cgi-bin/calendar.pl?calendar=ukhh) as many regular readers now avoid these forums.

Mind your manners. The last thing we need is yet another site full of mindless abuse. If it doesn’t reflect well on the site – we don’t want it associated with the site – we will be forced remove the forums unless people understand.

We reserve the right to delete any message/lock any message. We don't like doing it as it’s a hassle, but sometimes it has to be done to keep the forums in good shape. We have reluctantly created a wastebasket for shit threads – this facility means users can understand the reasoning behind our actions and will hopefully keep the forums clean of useless abuse.

Finally, please take the time to check out the mainsite (http://www.ukhh.com). We are a small team that spends a huge amount of our spare time trying to generate something positive for homegrown music. If you think you’d like to get involved then please get in touch with us - we can only reflect those who have the passion to voice their opinions in a positive manner. With that in mind we are only trying to regulate these forums because they are draining our passion for the scene and this site – we don’t need the bullshit.
