It's true, distribution needs to be sorted. I tried contacting boombox to distribute my mix-cds (which were done to a proffessional standard) but they didn't even get back to me so I did the job myself sending my CDs to different outlets.

The best act of distrubution I've seen in this country is probably Genesis Elijah popping up EVERYWHERE to shot his CD's. Same with Mr. Drastick.

Skrein used Pinnacle, as well as Channel U for their recent releases.

Or give me a few months and I'll be in a position to hopefully do it for you myself...

Easy seed, you can still use Cargo (i like em), Boombox (not been a problem), Pinnacle (or their subsidiaries) & all the others, you just got to put the pressure on them. they have to sell other people stuff, just make sure your on the top of the list, make sure they send out seperate emails pushing your release and all that.

Make sure they are doing their jobs or they will only do the minumum and push the Big sellers. Just make them work for you, they are making cash off you anyway.
You catch more bees with Honey than vinegar, sweeten them up,its the only way to roll if your an unknown.

LOL BY FAR!

That, and the fact an online store purely for your own output ain't a tricky thing these days. It's not too tricky to build up the contacts yourself, with whom once you have the CDs it's a straight forward process to supply them.

Nice one Chester P for bringing things to the fore.

In hiphop, as in life, too much shit is consigned to whispers and backstabbing, so its refreshing to have someone informing the public in no uncertain terms whats happening.

Internet neeks to man up aswell, as proved! You could almost hear the arses drop.

Bootlegging 12" to mp3's as well now .

thats minor.
hardly anything on them and most the links dont work.

compared with the amountof places to download full grime mixtapes and albums; uk hip hop is not suffering that much from downloads.

IS A HETROPHOBIC WHIMP

I couldnt be arsed reading a peice of text without even basic english skills.

I also think its a little stupid (in many ways) to put this on the internet (Myspace of all places), business isn't supposed to be public like this.

ok thomarse .... i am glad you have vented your concern over my basic english skills especially since the 7th word into your small little bit of writing is spelt wrong you may find peice is supposed to be spelt piece..... secondly hetrophobic is a word i made up in hip hop music we use a thing called slang its not based on the queens english you hesmond..... third thing im dyslexic and left school at 13 and taught myself to read and write and it seems i am a little more articulated than you and i presume you have had mum and dad pay shitloads for your uni fees and that must piss you off sorry.......third thing the best place to air out business is publiclly for it leaves no room for people to lie or fake it cos the world is watching and as seen as i often have conversations with these people in quistion and they more than often say one thing in private and another in public hence my open aproach as well as the fact other artists up and coming will benefit to know about these people....... overall thomarse check yourself(and your spelling) then check me (and my spelling) untill then at least read what your criticising....... and oh yeah sorry for any furthrer spelling issues you may have with me but its not about that.......

LOL at Thomarse, takes me back to school days that. It was the caps lock and.... which i found made it hard to read though.

Fair play on the points you’re making there though. I still think that writing such a detailed piece of text for myspace is a little too far when it comes to something like this.

P.S. I work for my uni fees and have a loan for everything else, and i also have terrible spelling (undiagnosed dyslexia?), Word is a god send.

this is all a bit deep eh, i agree with chesters comment about the fact that you, the artists, are what feeds these businesses, so businesses should recognise this and play fair game. Sounds like getting out there and doing your own distribution is the way, but i guess thats not as easy as it sounds and obviously very time consuming otherwise everyone would be on it.
big up yaself chester p, and big ups to undali - real goodness every single time

(as it got a mention above, i'll add that i got my Skrein:Eat Up recently ...... fooking heavy album)
